Mauritania Radio Show

Mauritania sits between Western Sahara, Senegal and Mali in the Sahara Desert. It is rich in the Griot culture, where singing, storytelling and instrumental mastery are past down through generations.

The breadth of music shows how the music of Mauritania has changed over time, and how traditional styles have merged with Western influences and instruments to make weird and wondering sounds which are completely unique to this region.
